Check List for Entry Categories - SAS Annual Judged Art Show
Overall Guidelines
1. The entry is original and not copied form other sources. The participant must be able to certify the originality and freedom from copyright of the art being entered.
2. The entry has been completed or reworked within the last two years and not been entered in a previous SAS judged show.
3. The entry is properly framed and ready for hanging. Hanging wire on the back of the work is required, no saw tooth hangers.
4. Maximum dimension is 48" on any side. Large 3D work should include a pedestal or display stand.
Specific Guidelines
Prize money increases from Beginner to Master
Student Level
1. 17 years old or younger - Divided by age: 12 years & Under and 13 - 17 years
Adult Level (All)
1. Select the adult level you should enter from the following options:
Adult Beginner Level
1. Do you assess your art skills in the beginning stage? For example, have you been making art for a few years and learning basic techniques?
2. Have you won at least 2 previous awards at the Beginner Level?
If you answered "yes" - you should move to the Intermediate Level.
Adult Intermediate Level
1. Do you assess your art skills in the intermediate stage? For example, have you been making art for four or more years, learning techniques and beginning to develop a style or approach of your own?
2. Have you won at least 2 previous awards at the Intermediate Level?
If you answered "yes" - you should move to the Advanced Level.
Adult Advanced Level
1. Do you assess your art skills in the advanced stage? For example, have you spent time practicing your art and developed a style and approach?
2. Have you studied art or design? Have you sold your art? Have you exhibited your art in other shows?
3. Have you won Best of Show or two First Place Awards?
If you answered "yes" - you should move to the Master Level.
Adult Master Level
1. Do you assess your art skills in the master stage? See Advanced questions plus -
2. Have you had work juried into art shows? Had a solo show?
3. Are you a well-seasoned recognized artist?
